We have released the 7.0.0 version of VivoSocial as a DotNetNuke 5.2.2 Community Edition site, preconfigured with our social netowrking mdoules. This can be used a demo, or for a foundation for setting up a custom social network. VivoSocial can be downloaded from our Downloads page, or from CodePlex. This video covers the basics of installing VivoSocial on a Windows 2003 Server using IIS and SQL Server 2005.

Steps:

1. Download VivoSocial.zip
2. Download VivoSocialDataBaseFiles.zip from CodePlex (in Other Available Files) if you are going to use bakup file instead of full database.
3. If using the Full Database, you will want to find the VivoSocial.mdf and VivoSocial_Log.ldf files in the App_Data folder of VivoSocial and move it to the appropriate directory on your SQL Server. If you are using the backup file, you will want to move it to the appropriate SQL Server location.
4. Attach the database or Restore the database to your SQL Server.
5. If you want to setup for a specific domain, other than localhost, you will need to run the Clean-VivoSocial.sql file after replacing "yourdomain.com" with your domain against the VivoSocial database.
6. Unzip the VivoSocial.zip to a location on your webserver.
7. Make sure Network Service has full permission on the folder.
8. Setup a new worker processor in IIS
9. Create a new website in IIS with.net 3.5 Framework installed and the site pointing to the VivoSocial folder.
10. Change the connection strings in the web.config file to point ot the VivoSocial database on your SQL Server (2 places).
11. In a web browser, go to http://localhost or http://yourdomain.com
12. Login to the site using "host" for the username and "VS2009!" for the password. You will want to change the password immediately.

You should now have a social network ready to be customized.
