What is an electronic cigarette?

An electronic cigarette is a revolutionary shift in tobacco consumption that is destined to change the way people smoke cigarettes.  It is said to taste, feel and act like a cigarette but does not actually produce any real (harmful?) smoke...  It utilizes an odorless and tar free nicotine vapor that does not have many of the chemicals found in traditional cigarettes.

There are many mfrs of electronic cigarettes and a cartomizer is a combination of atomizer and cartridge. It works in a similar fashion as atomizers except they are not meant to be refilled.. The electronic cigarettes do produce smoke HOWEVER they do not produce the odor. This leads me to wonder, because there is visible smoke, can you actually smoke them inside bars and restaurants.  There may actually be smokeless (visible) cigarettes that provide the same effects...lets hope.
