bing, google, facebook and twitter seem to have synergy in working together to raise the bar in search and user experience. Their greed is innovation, and competition amongst one another doesn't seem to have any leverage over the ecosystems' overall FORWARD movement..as I eluded to in my comment @ Internet Evolution . Meaning, the big fish leave plenty of room and trickle down for the smaller fish to EVOLVE.
